One Step Life Coaching

Testimonials

I found Barbara's meetings, both group and one-on-one, enlightening, supportive and uplifting, and confronting in an unthreatening way to get me to look at things in my life that need my attention to improve my health and quality of life.

I feel more at peace with health challenges most of the time, and realise how blessed I am in so many ways with sharing and hearing others in group challenges.

Even though I've studied and gained a lot of knowledge on my journey, I've found the meetings insightful for me and refreshing and many “Ah Hah” lightbulb moments come up.

I really enjoyed receiving wonderful emails that make one think and also laugh, some of which I have laminated.

I intend to keep on this journey with Barbara in 2010, not so intently, but to keep me on my toes.

Thank you Barbara

Warmest wishes, Carol W.

I have just completed a 6 session life-coaching course with Barbara Shepherd and I feel I have benefited greatly. Her gentle, sensitive encouragement in facing the things that need to be dealt with so that good personal growth is possible was heartfelt. She provides a safe environment to explore what blocks one from achieving changes and goals in one's life. Her obvious passion for life and connection is refreshing. I shall continue to seek her guidance in future.

Tranquility

To my life coach, my mentor, my friend, my multi-sensory soulmate...

How can I ever thank you adequately for your enormous generosity and the time, effort, kindness, support and heart you have invested in my life over the past 8 months. I have thoroughly enjoyed every session with you and so appreciate the amount of thoughtfulness and care that went into each session. Not only have you helped my growth enormously with your input, your advice, your writings and your wisdom, you are a role-model and inspiration to me the way you live your life with such authenticity and integrity, truly living your passions.

I have so enjoyed getting to know you and I truly hope that, going forward, we can stay connected.

Thank you again for everything, and from the bottom of my heart I wish you huge success and happiness in everything you do.

I decided to embark on this journey with set ideas and very distinct goals. I enjoyed the association of like minded people and found the sessions extremely peaceful. I had never meditated before and have found I can't wait to find the peace each time I do.

The goals and reasons I started out with are still there but in a less controlled way. I think I have learnt to be gentler on myself. I realise that most of my life I thought I solved my problems on my own - hence the need to control - now I realise it is with the help of the universe and all that's in it that assists us. We must not be consumed with that that holds us back.

I now know that in time I will reach my goals but the journey towards them will be different for me. I will look forward to the challenges ahead with greater peace.

I feel that I am able to work on releasing the heaviness I felt inside and that I can enjoy life more. I am not ready to end the sessions yet.

Thank you Barbara

We all find ourselves at some point needing someone to support, motivate and help us set goals for the future to better our lives.

I feel that after only three one-on-one life coaching sessions with Barbara Shepherd, I have achieved personal growth by taking control of my life in setting and implementing boundaries both at home and in the workplace. Definitely recommended course of action!

Meeting Barbara Shepherd changed my life - quite literally. After what the Queen would term an annus horribilis, when I lost my job, "lost" my mother (she died aged 90) I was then faced with the prospect of losing my house - not to mention my mind! I felt I was drowning in quicksand as I contemplated the daunting task of shifting 8 years of clutter in a short space of time. To the rescue came Barbara, whose motto is "the key is action!" As I continued to sink into despair, she managed to pack/sort, pack/sort (armed with black bags and cleaning products) until the job was done. (To say it was like an episode from the TV series Clean House would be an understatement!) I then signed up for one-on-one life coaching sessions and, once again, Barbara changed my life - this time in a spiritual and emotional way.

I am now much closer to living a happy, fulfilled life enjoying each day "One Step At A Time". Thanks, Barb, I look forward to joining your group sessions and sharing more of your loving life lessons.

Dear Barbara

6 months ago I was alone, lonely, fatigued, depressed and living in a cluttered environment. You came into my life and literally “swept it clean” ! You showed me that I was worthy of loving and being loved. You showed me how important I was and how I was (and we all are) connected to “source” or GOD.

You gave 100 times more than “just a session” once a fortnight as you emailed me every other day to motivate, guide and encourage me. I was blown away with your enthusiasm, passion and love for life. You filled me with such a wonderful love and energy that I could not fail to rise up and grow and “find myself” under your kind and caring guidance.

I am now working again and have reconnected with my children – in essence I have found “my life” again – but more than that, I have in a very deep way – connected with my soul and my purpose in life – and for this I thank you.

I continue to recommend you to others who are “lost” as I know if they are ready and willing to make changes – you are the one to help them!

light - thinkthe two wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between 'two wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.'

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, '“Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed”.
